Position Summary:

The Surveillance Technician is responsible for recommending equipment purchases, installing and maintaining all surveillance equipment. They ensure all equipment operates continuously and in compliance with strict gaming regulations to protect casino assets and guarantee gaming integrity. This position reports directly to the Director of Surveillance.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for practicing, supporting, and promoting North Fork Mono Casino’s culture and always demonstrating exemplary Service Standards.
  • Have knowledge of how all applicable video equipment operates.
  • Repair equipment in an expedient manner.
  • Install additional surveillance equipment as needed.
  • Relocate surveillance equipment as needed.
  • Keep informed of new equipment and technology as it becomes available on the market.
  • Inform the Surveillance Director of all pertinent information regarding the Surveillance Department.
  • Be on call for emergency equipment repair.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality with respect to operations, controls, and procedures involved in surveillance activities.
  • Evaluate equipment needs, perform preventative maintenance, and order surveillance equipment as necessary.
  • Work alongside the Director of Surveillance to liaison with Surveillance equipment vendors.
  • Operate various tools, single/two man lift and test equipment while maintaining, installing, and repairing Surveillance equipment.
  • Manage projects and maintain organized documentation of surveillance maintenance performed and projects impacting the surveillance system.
  • Must be reliable, trustworthy, and honest.
  • Maintain good communication and foster a positive, professional work environment.
  • Contribute to overall team efforts and departmental results.
  • Attends, and satisfactorily completes, all required training as assigned and required.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with Vendors, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form.
  • Knowledge and ability to safely operate various tools and test equipment while maintaining, installing, and repairing Surveillance equipment.
  • Able to work constantly changing schedules to adjust to fluctuating business demands, work any shifts including holidays, with fluctuating days off.
  • Be self‐motivated and complete job functions with little or no supervision.
  • Ability to react quickly and accurately under demanding, high stress conditions.
  • Must be computer literate to perform daily tasks.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in audio and video or CCTV equipment repair required.
  • Experience in surveillance is preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Commission, which includes passing a background investigation.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

Physical Requirements:

  • All work is performed on site in Madera, CA.
  • Requires manual dexterity to perform job related functions.
  • Ability to sit, stand or walk for the duration of their shift.
  • Ability to bend, carry, climb, crawl, crouch, grasp, kneel, lift, pull, push, reach, sit, stand, or stoop during or for the duration of their shift.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50lbs. with or without assistance.

Work Conditions:

Team Members will be in constant contact with fellow Team Members and Guests.  Work includes the maintenance and care of the assigned work area. Work is typically in an area which may be unusually hot, cold, noisy, and may contain secondhand smoke. Work may be performed in a confined area. Performance of job duties will require standing, walking, lifting, reaching, pushing, pulling and grasping. Work may be scheduled at various hours, including working overtime, and during evening, weekends, and holidays. Work may entail trained chemical usage.  Work is performed outdoors and can involve continuous exposure to high and low temperatures, sunlight, wet surfaces and noise.
